Facilitator - Janette McKnight

“All their life in this world and all their adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on for ever: in which every chapter is better than the one before”.

I have a deep appreciation for meaningful quotes, and this one from The Chronicles of Narnia, crafted by one of my all-time favourite authors, the locally born CS Lewis, holds a special place in my heart. It brims with hope and adventure, qualities that resonate with my role as a licensed Before I Go Solutions ® End-of-Life Planning Facilitator.

I discovered great satisfaction and a profound sense of relief when I completed my own end-of-life plan with Before I Go Solutions ®. Now I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to support individuals here in Northern Ireland to craft their own plans for a fulfilling conclusion to this chapter of life. Together, let’s embark on this journey – a journey that promises hope, adventure, and a sense of fulfilment as we script the closing chapter of your life.

About Me

  • Have you been meaning to get all your ducks in a row for some time now, but other things keep getting in the way?
  • Are you a bit scared about talking about death – or do you think it might happen more quickly if you talk about it?
  • Maybe it’s all a bit overwhelming for you?

These are all totally understandable and very normal fears and concerns.

I have had many similar thoughts.

However, I have found that planning for my own end-of-life not only helped me overcome these fears and concerns but has been both rewarding and liberating as well as gifting me some unexpected fun along the way.

I want you to experience this for yourself and feel the sense of achievement of a job well done.

You will be in safe hands with my support, and will also enjoy getting to know yourself a little more.

In addition to being a fulfilling learning experience, I hope that you will have some unexpected fun along the way like I had.

In my work as a coach and trainer, I have had feedback from participants like

“I’m thankful to have you in my corner as I take this next step. I don’t know where I would be without your support. Thank you for believing in me.”

“Thank you so much for your amazing course, I have learnt a lot in our 6 weeks, and it has made a big difference in my mental health!”

“Thank you so much for helping me change my life around.”

It would be my pleasure to help you achieve this fulfilment, belief in yourself and powerful sense of accomplishment.

As well as being a certified end-of-life planner, I have other qualifications and experience that I hope will add to your confidence in working with me.

I have an HNC in Business Studies, an ILM Level 5 in Coaching & Mentoring and am an associate member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council UK (EMCCUK).

I have 45 years of experience within various leadership and administrative roles in the not-for-profit sector. More recently, I have kept my ongoing professional learning up to date by attending a range of relevant mental health and wellbeing training including Mental Health First Aid, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), WRAP facilitation Skills, 5 Steps to Wellbeing Ambassador, Positive Steps facilitator and counselling skills (CPD3).

I am known to have the practical ability and hard work ethic to ensure success as well as the creativity to design bespoke wellbeing programmes for people.

But – please do not be put off with my resume; I am also known as someone who is totally approachable, easy going, compassionate, caring and empathic, with a ‘wicked’ sense of humour, and I most definitely do not take myself too seriously!

I work with individuals or couples in person or via Zoom.

I also work with groups of up to 12 people in person.

Here are 3 quick steps to start working with me:

STEP 1: Arrange a free half-hour introductory session with me. And if you believe we are right for each other, let’s move to step 2….

STEP 2: We decide together whether you want to work through the entire 7-part Before I Go Method® or alternatively, choose the parts you would like to focus on.

STEP 3: Now you are ready to book our first 1-hour coaching session so together with my support and encouragement, you are ready to tackle that plan at last!

More About Me

“Walk on air against your better judgement” is the epitaph on Seamus Heaney’s headstone in Bellaghy, Co Derry, taken from one of his poems “The Gravel Walks”.

That’s how I like to think of life – a thrilling adventure, where each day presents an opportunity for growth, a chance to embrace life and an invitation to find joy even in the toughest of times.

I live in the tranquil countryside just a stone’s throw from Lisburn City in Northern Ireland.

I share my life journey with my husband of over 4 decades.

Together we have been blessed with two remarkable daughters and four enchanting grandchildren.

I love spending time with family and friends, weekly date nights with hubby, playing piano and listening to music of all genres, immersing myself in a world of fiction, watching motivational TEDx talks and taking morning walks through the countryside.

Cooking is another passion of mine, and you might occasionally find me pottering about with a paintbrush and sketchpad.

My faith plays a central role in my life, and I am an active member of my local church.

I’m fuelled by a profound desire to help individuals recognise their inherent beauty, talents and the untapped potential within them.

My professional journey has been diverse, initially working within various administrative roles within the public sector.

However, I made a conscious choice to transition to the charity sector, aligning my career with organisations that shared my values of equality, non-judgmentalism, compassion, love, integrity, creativity, kindness, empathy and authenticity.

This decision allowed me to make a tangible difference in the lives of others and it continues to resonate deeply with me.

They say that life begins at 40, but I’ve come to realise that it can begin at any age.

After serving as the CEO of a remarkable Quaker charity for 15 years, I embarked on a transformative journey of self-discovery as I celebrated by 60th birthday.

Armed with an ILM Level 5 in Coaching & Mentoring I embraced a part time role with our local Social Supermarket.

Over the course of the following 3+ years, I delivered a range of emotional wellbeing courses and provided one-on-one coaching sessions to clients, igniting a passion for coaching and mentoring.

Today, I stand as the founder of Marbles Creative Coaching, a platform dedicated to supporting individuals in unlocking their unique potential and purpose through life coaching.

I am equally committed to helping people embrace the freedom of crafting an end-of-life plan.

While these topics may delve into serious matters, I believe that the journey should be infused with moments of joy and light heartedness.

Life is an incredible gift, and I am here to empower you to make the most of it, one adventure at a time.
